We Are All The Rocker!
The Rocker Chic
The Rocker is about you, about me, and about our love for Classic Rock and Metal! My name is James West, and I have been a Rock Connoisseur all of my life, and I love to share my experiences and opinions in hopes of possibly turning others on to the bands I love and follow.
Music has been my best friend since I can remember, which brings me back to sounds of the The Beatles, The Turtles, The Monkees, and just about every other animal band that was blasted over the airwaves during the 60s on my parent's AM Radio.

In the early 70's the sounds changed to the era of soft rock with the likes of Elton John, Seals and Crofts, and Three Dog Night. My Mom would always have The Bee Gees, Cat Stevens, and even some cool Otis Redding blasting on the huge stereo console in the living room.
These artists were all instrumental in developing my love for melody and rhythm in music. The "songwriter" artists got me hooked on music, but it was the hard-rocking guitar riffs and earth-rattling drum beats of "classic rock" that made me fall in love for life.
I may not have had much in this life, but two things that are Rocker requirements to have are both a memory and an opinion! Ha!
If you ask The Rocker Chic she'll tell you I can't even remember yesterday, but when it comes to my life experiences with Rock and Roll my mind is like a Fort Knox Vault!
I can remember every album I've purchased, the songs on the album and usually in what order they appear on the album, and of course how I felt when I heard the album for the first time! I can even remember where I was and even smells of the day from when I first heard certain songs.
This was especially present from when I was just a kid in full discovery mode. Do you have these same abilities? Well, then you are A Rocker, too!
The first three heavy rock albums I ever bought were back n 1976. They were: Sweet - Give Us A Wink; Queen - A Night At The Opera, and Aerosmith - Toys In The Attic. Now, over 2,000 albums later, I still get the same excitement as I did back in 1976 whenever I put something new in the CD player!

For over Forty years Rock and Roll Music has been an integrate part of my life force. It has had the power to lift me up from moments of intense sadness and depression, and to also lift me up even higher in moments of pure joy and happiness. It's more powerful than any drug you will every try, and more spiritual than any religion you may belong to!
With that said, let me get off my high horse and thank each and every one of you who grace these pages. It is my sincere pleasure to share my love for music with you, and to hopefully enhance your life experience in a positive way. LONG LIVE ROCK!

I couldn't possibly have made this Rock and Roll dream come true without my beautiful and talented wife and partner in crime Danette West! Her encouragement and contributions in helping create this kick-ass website are greatly appreciated! I couldn't possibly have made this Rock and Roll dream come true without my beautiful and talented wife and partner in crime Danette West!
Danette, who I fondly refer to as "The Rocker Chic" or "That 80's Chic", depending on what the topic of conversation is at any given time, lol, has helped me immensely with not only providing awesome photos and ideas for the site, but foremost in her understanding of the time involved in creating this massive endeavor. Also a HUGE thank you to our illustrator ACK!
Our love for Rock music, concerts, and photography have all combined to make for quite the life experience together! I'm proud to share our great memories along with her artistic expressions with you on this labor of love!
Musically, I've been able to open my ears to great 80's groups like Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order, and other bands that I never gave a chance to due to being consumed by the NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) during that time period. I've become even a greater fan of two of her favorite artists, Duran Duran, and of course, Def Leppard!
With reluctance I report that I have actually seen Duran Duran more times than any other band on my extensive lists! (sigh...) It seems That 80's Chic has the upper hand at the moment. Maybe with all of your help I can help change this situation in the near future!
Yo! I know you'll never be as cool as The Rocker! But that's ok, It's a long way to the top if you want to Rock And Roll! Peace - Out!
It's All Tommy's Fault!
You're not a TRUE Rocker unless you Rock to Live and you Live to Rock! We like to have fun at concerts and often get into the spirit by playing a little pretend by dressing up like our musical heroes. I know... tell the truth, you really can't tell the difference between Tommy Shaw and the Rocker's below, can you? Ha, right!
